CNN recently interviewed the winner of the Scripps National Spelling Bee Championship, Ananya Vinay. During the interview, the 12-year old girl whose parents are from India, was jokingly asked to spell “Covfefe”—a made-up word President Trump had used on twitter recently.
After this unfunny jab at the President fell flat, CNN host Alisyn Camerota went on to say to the little girl:
“Its root is not in Sanskrit, which is what you’re probably used to using.”
Some people are calling this comment racist, and saying that Camerota was implying that because Ananya is of Indian origin, she must be able to speak Sandskrit. Sandskrit is a dead language with origins on the Indian subcontinent.

CNN has really gone down the tubes lately. The news network has been known for producing an endless stream of articles attacking President Trump. While they often call conservatives racist and every other name you can think of, they are almost never called out when they say racist things themselves.
CNN has not made a comment addressing these allegations of racism, but CNN is also dealing with a class action lawsuit claiming the news network discriminates against African-American employees. The company allegedly gives African-American workers lower pay and performance ratings.
CNN should really deal with its own issues of racism before attacking conservatives. They are trying to hide this embarrassing story. Share one million times to show the world how hypocritical CNN is!
