A US jet has shot down an Iranian drone that was flying in southern Syrian nearby US-backed forces, says Fox News. It is being reported that the US Air Force F-15 shot down what is allegedly an Iranian-made drone.
US Special forces have been training Syrians near al-Tanf, Syria. On Sunday, the US air force shot down a Syrian jet for the first time. Russia has already responded and just flew a Russian warplane flys “withing five feet of US air force plane.”
Russia staunchly supports Syria and President Bashar al-Assad and will not back down to the US. They have banned any coalition aircraft from flying west of the Euphrates River in Syria.
Here’s how Washington responded: “The escalation of hostilities among the many factions that are operating in this region doesn’t help anybody. And the Syrian regime and others in the regime need to understand that we will retain the right of self-defense, of coalition forces aligned against ISIS,” Sean Spicer said.
